What is a delivery challan?

A delivery challan is a formal document that’s used to record the transfer of goods from one party to another, and is sent along with the shipment. It is used in commercial transactions and can be issued for both interstate and intrastate transportation. Delivery challans are often used in situations where goods are transported without a sale, such as when moving goods from one warehouse to another, or when the quantity of goods to be delivered can’t be determined in advance.
