Difference between You gave & You got

Customer Ledger

You Got
This means the customer has paid you, and you received the money.

Example: A customer pays ₹10,000 for goods you sold. You mark ₹10,000 under You Got.

You Gave
This means you paid money to the customer, maybe for a refund, advance, or return.

Example: You refund ₹2,000 to a customer. You record ₹2,000 under You Gave.


Vendor Ledger

You Got
This means the vendor has given you money, possibly a refund or adjustment.

Example: Vendor refunds ₹1,000 for a returned item. You record ₹1,000 under You Got.

You Gave
This means you paid money to the vendor, for purchasing goods or services.

Example: You pay ₹15,000 to a vendor for stock. You record ₹15,000 under You Gave.
