# What is the difference between an inward and outward delivery challan?

An **Inward Delivery Challan** is used to record goods **received** by a business, such as returns, purchases, or job work items. An **Outward Delivery Challan** documents goods **sent out** from a business, like sales, samples, or items sent for processing.
