# How to write internal notes when recording payment against sales invoice on the web?

To write internal notes when recording payment against sales invoice on the web, please follow below mentioned steps:

Step 1: Go to **Invoices under Sales** and click on **“Record Payment”** option.

Step 2: Add **internal notes, and click on Update Payment.**

**Note: Whatever you write here is for your reference only and will not be printed on the payment receipt.**
