# How to add a parent category for products in web?

To add a parent category for products in web, please follow the steps mentioned below,

**Step 1:** Please go to **“Products & services”** \>\> **Categories** \>\> Click on **“+Add Category”**

**Step 2:** Please click on **“Parent Category”** \>\> **Enter category name** \>\> Turn on Show in online store if needed and click on **“Add category”**
